This session will explore the importance of emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills.

Finances: Managing God's Resources

This session will explore the biblical view of money and provide practical strategies for managing finances well.

John Reilly

Leadership: The Role of Men in the Church

John was born and raised in Michigan, except for four years living in Springfield, Mo during college. A graduate of Mission University (BA in Theology) and Liberty University (MA in Pastoral Counseling). In his younger year he was a member of Ryan Road Baptist Church in Warren, Mi, where at the age of 13 he accepted the Jesus as his savior. In 1981, John became the Youth and Music Director at Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor, MI. His entire ministry has been at Beacon where he now serves as Senior Pastor since 2018. In addition to pastoring, he currently serves as chairman of trustees for Boston Baptist College, Vice President of the board of Arab American Friendship Center, and Treasurer of the Michigan Baptist Bible Fellowship. He has been married to his wife and ministry partner, Rhonda, for 42 years. God has blessed them with 4 adult children and 8 grandchildren.

Bob Hunter

Finances: Managing God's Resources

After a 33-year career as a Senior Vice President of one of the largest banking institutions in America, Bob Hunter fulfilled a lifelong dream of an early retirement and being called into the ministry full time. Since 2018, Bob serves as the Church Administrator for Beacon Baptist Church where he is responsible for church finance as well as operations and church properties management. Bob obtained his degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Northwood University. His background in finance and operations has proven to be beneficial to Beacon, its members, and church community. Bob and his wife Lora are privileged to teach and lead the Connection Class, an adult Sunday School class at Beacon.  

 

Bob says his greatest accomplishment is being called Dad by his daughters Sara and Katie and is equally proud of his son in law, Dylan. Bob enjoys spending time with his grand dogs Cali and Presley. Family means everything. Bob is an avid historian and loves studying and teaching the Old Testament. He enjoys watching football, baseball, and college basketball and is still more than willing to participate even though his body tells him he shouldn’t. Bob’s favorite verse is Psalm 63:1 “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.

A.J Reilly

Emotional Intelligence

A.J. is the husband of Jess and dad to Jack, Nora, and Teddy. He’s a United States Army Reserve Chaplain, with a Master of Art in Theological Studies and a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Military Chaplaincy from Liberty University. He is a die-hard Detroit Sports fan and covers them for Detroit Sports Nation.

In addition to this, A.J. is an avid reader and writer, publishing his debut novel, The Askren Boys, in 2018, winning the Children’s Literary Classic’s Gold Medal in the Coming of Age category in 2019. Since then, his attention has turned toward content creation for Valor Men’s Ministry, a ministry of his home church Beacon Baptist Church.

A.J. has a passion for the next generation and that’s why he created Uncultured Dad. This space exists to grow a community of men who love God, date their wife, and raise their children well.

Greg Burdine

Prayer and Spiritual Disciplines

Greg Burdine has been the senior pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Adrian, Michigan since 1994.  He has been married to Judy since 1981. They have four children and ten grandchildren.

 

Greg's passion is teaching the Word of God. He received his Bachelor's degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and his Master's degree and Doctorate degree from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana.
 

He has been in full-time Christian ministry since 1982, serving churches in Iowa, Ohio, and Michigan.  He likes to read, run and play with his grandchildren.
